This year, at his Turnpike Studio the emphasis is on his Black and White Pen drawings and also his Ink with colour wash sketches. Most of these are of local areas around Snowdonia and some memories of holidays in Pembrokeshire. Also on display is a selection of his acrylic works entitled “Rock Sky, and Sea".
Many of Barry's acrylic paintings are of “Sky, Rocks and Sea" and this is the title of this year's acrylic exhibition.
During Helfa Gelf it will be a pleasure to greet new visitors to the gallery as well as welcoming back old friends to see some more of his talent.
Everyone is welcome to browse or buy - or both!
You can phone 01766 890283 at anytime during the year to visit Turnpike to see
Barry's work.
I only turn with native woods, which are either fallen, driftwood, or which I know are going to be replaced. I turn mainly Ash, Sycamore and Oak and fruitwoods when available.
I love pottery, particularly the work of craft potters and my turning is very much influenced by the shapes of pots but I could never be a potter because of the timescale of production, although the immediacy of raku does appeal."
"I was given one of Barry's wooden bowls as a gift on my 30th birthday and it sits proudly on our coffee table at home. It's such a beautiful piece of work and everyone comments on how lovely it is ..."
"I've just bought one of your paintings after seeing a thumbnail image of it on this website ... it's arrived this morning and what a stunner it is. It's going to look perfect in my dining room. Thank you."
Barry's paintings and structures are currently displayed in Llew Glas Delicatessen, Cafe and Gallery in Blue Lion Square, High Street, Harlech. Proprietress Freya Bentham extends a warm welcome to visitors
You can view Barry's paintings whilst enjoying her excellent snacks, prepared to order.
